Annual Halloween Gala was Boston's Best Bash

Boston is known for many things; sports, accents, chowda and of course the Annual Halloween Gala. This year the cities two most lavishing holiday personalities; Managing Editor of the Boston Herald, Gustavo Leon and King of Darkness Designer Samuel Vartan gathered forces for the weekends best bash. For an event not to be missed, Scene&Style threw on some glamour and was on site in gladiator form.

The A list evening came together by Jena Tang of Prestige Communications and stage production from Pete Paraskevas. It began with a classy cocktail hour of passed hors d' oeuvres and music from Internationally World Famous Dj Liz Ladoux that gave guests time to arrive at the Boston Exhibition and Convention Center. Master of Ceremonies Gustavo Leon took center stage looking fabulous in his custom coat and hat from Marilla Designs by Mae Horak. Always with his intoxicating presence Leon welcomed and acknowledged ticket goers with gratitude as the evening was a benefit for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief.

The vampire fashion presentation by Samuel Vartan Collections and head pieces from COCO designs by Coleen Galvin Yaroshenko started with a black velvet stare in a full length deathly deep dress. The freaky fashion continued with Vartan vixen looks of; metallic golds, busty black leather, a detailed off the shoulder burgundy dress. A laced look of all white with the model strategic placement had death lurking in the shadows on the walls. Following was a feathered expression fit for an evil queen and a bold red finished out the ghoul and glamour meets sex goddess collection.

In traditional manor Vartan the Vampire arrived in his famed casket style entrance for an epic live performance with the Natalie Joly Band. From there the night was opened up to dancing, and judges Laura Ladd - CEO of Click Boston, Michael L. Carucci – Executive Vice President of Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty along with Vanessa Farino – President of Boston Business Women giving out 12 golden tickets nominating them for the best costume contest. The grand prize was an all-inclusive VIP package for two to the choice of either Punta Cana or Cancun Hard Rock Cafe Resort. The winner was Marta Mohammadi who made her costume Spanish inspired flower fantasy attire. Three other awards were given out to two Marie Antoinette’s and one mermaid with each a $100 gift certificate from the Briar group.

The evening was a spooky success between the masterminds behind the event, the creative costumes, sponsors and raising money for the Red Cross. It will be tuff to top the event yet the word is out that their collaboration is already planning to set a standard for 2018.
