Boston Fashion Celebrates Their Finest

As the holidays near in, each year you can expect to mark your calendar for the annual Boston Fashion Awards. The city’s finest come together for a night of live entertainment, fashion installations from nominees, and the praising of all that make our stylish community what it is.

This year the awards were held in the event space of the contemporary and upscale restaurant La Fabrica Central in Cambridge and hosted by Jennifer Mariel Ruiz. The evening began with a cocktail hour for guests to mingle at the lavish long oak bar. The opening act of the night was Vincent King and band giving their soulful rendition of “The Shape of You.” Following was the first runway presentation from Shaco Couture paired with Jewelinga Designs. The evening continued with more from designers such as; The Lucky Onez, also Vava featuring a rocking street style and a Boston icon Angelica Timas with her sexy and sophisticated looks. In between were performances from Simone Cardoso and Teddy Mathews. All while rotating the announcements of winners in categories like; Hair Salon, Female/Male Print Model, Designer Evening, Swimwear, Couture and more.

A highlight was the honoring of the 2018 Fashion Achievement Award presented by MC and manlicious Model Gustavo Leon. After a heartwarming speech and insight into the life lead, winner David Josef was welcomed to the stage to accept his award while giving thanks to all legends that have helped him grow all the way.

The 2018 ceremony was filled with festive moments, collections, musical performances and respect to those that give their all on and off the runway. The Boston Fashion Awards focus is to build a positive image of the Boston fashion scene internationally and strengthen the fellowship within the local industry while raising funds and awareness for select local charitable organizations.
