Mass fashion Week Sets the Stage for Local Designers

A new platform for local artists is paving it’s place in the New England fashion scene. Mass Fashion Week, Founder and CEO Maegannn Michelle presented season four with force and putting a stamp on the brand Miss Maegannn has created.

The four day event took place all throughout the state. Fenway area for the opening where fashion met with food. Lofty chic shows and networking to the closing at the Academy of Creative Arts Boston where Scene&Style was on site to see just what the runway setup fit for Milan had to offer.

 

Opening the runway for the finale of @massfashionweek was @backend2riches showing studded sweats for a relentless mindset. The pieces gave a casual comfort vibe with not too much on the eye for a toned played down look. Following, was @scaryfairyfromsalem with psychedelic knitting. One of a kind up-cycled fashion with vintage attitude brightened the runway with vibrant color. It was a powerful pop of whimsy meets edge, fusing fantasy and gothic grunge.

 

Brockton based local creativity from @sickfory0u showed in bold and bleached refurbished fashion with a rebellious edge. Pieces perfect for a concert festival or attract that VIP attention at a rooftop affair. The collection had a strong vibe of statement with standards. Streetwear with soul @prophetenvoy hit next. Straight from the city side of Dorchester was a collection that is built to speak truth, challenge convention, and inspire movement. Statement pieces of a vintage black and what that speak purpose, pops of color that exuded peace, and unity. Keep an eye out on this designer, his fashion paired up with faith will soon to be seen worldly in this wearable everyday attire.


Following was @bliss.bymel woven with purpose. Every woman’s must have, handbags! These stylish statements are made with yarn knitting designs. Ladies take to that office meeting when trying to snag the CEOs attention or pack it up for a flight. This collection was in collaboration with Boston designer Liv For Fashion.

Giving the packed house of guests a break from the fashion was Miss Maegannn. The Boss lady duals as a recording artist who performed her hot new track. Keep your eyes on this one; her rise has just begun.

Getting back into the sewing side was Fashion Institute of Florida graduate Designer @laurensswim who give that perfect cut. She knows just how to capture appeal and craft confidence with her luxury handmade line. Select pieces had an extra pop of feminine power being paired with bold @whirlwindjewels. The collection is must have for the SS25 season and can be shopped at @angelnrgboutique


Next up were solid statements from @orendas.clothing where spiritual energy meets streetwear. Inclusive, bold, and transformative. The collection showed on the runway was a mix of perfect pieces to pair with a power business suit for a woman in the board room. Men’s wear was focal on an urban look with assertion on the brand iconic logo. Then, Dreading Deardra by Maura Deardra gave that classic look shown in a collection of powerful stories through design and tidied texture.


The power of punk spoke loudly with bold self-expression from @h.e.r.fashion This buyer worthy collection is handmade, inclusive, and sustainable. The apparel had a cohesive vibe of pairing patterns, tweeds and knitting for a strong story behind the designers vision. All the way from NYC was @RoyaleMelanin where urban meets elegance in a tribute to heritage. The collection opened with a sneak peek of embroidered vintage transitioning into funk street style. Following were gowns fit for duchess of Queens! The red focus on shades showed power. The dynamic cuts and impeccable stitching finished each look off for elegance.


Closing the Mass Fashion Week runway was a Boston-based, purpose-driven, and unapologetically authentic brand. Designer of @DffrntKlothing expressed off the sewing machine and went live on the mic showcasing his music while his collection took center stage that can be shopped at @bogosplit
